How to save recipes from Instagram
Choose the import method that matches where the creator placed the recipe.
Find the complete source first
Instagram recipes can appear in a Reel, caption, carousel, Story screenshot, or profile link. Check all available parts before you treat the recipe as complete.
Use the right import method
- Use the Reel link when speech or on-screen text contains important details.
- Use the post link when the caption contains the complete recipe.
- Use a screenshot when the recipe appears in a static image.
- Use the linked recipe page when the creator provides one.
Review before you cook
- Match each ingredient to a quantity when the source provides one.
- Confirm whether the temperature uses Celsius or Fahrenheit.
- Separate preparation time from cooking time.
- Keep optional ingredients separate from required ingredients.
- Keep the creator name and original Instagram link.
Save once, then use the recipe
A saved recipe should remain useful outside Instagram. Add it to a meal plan, scale the servings, and send ingredients to your grocery list.
Try the recipe importer. Compare the result with the Recivy test method.
Keep your collection portable
Save source links and export your recipe data regularly. The Recipe Bill of Rights explains Recivy's export promise.
